Inspections: Furnaces & Refractories
Redirecting
We have moved. Please, give me a moment so I can find the
information for you...there
we go.
When you use AIS furnace
inspections and evaluations, you can feel good in
knowing an experienced
furnace and refractories material and science engineer will be there to
assist you with your problem including:
-
Refractory application
-
Furnace inspection
-
Refractory repair
-
Furnace Brick &
Refractories Selection
-
Furnace and Kiln
Insulation Blocks, Insulation Blankets, and Insulation Packing
-
Temporary Furnace
Repairs
-
High
(furnace) Abrasion
Zones
-
High Temperature
Zones
-
Mortar Evaluation
In addition, we can
assistance with:
Our extensive experience
includes evaluating materials for commercial
applications, concentrating on materials protection in extreme
environments, such as resistance to high temperature, corrosion, and
impact. No job is too big or small for us to find a solution for you.
Whether you have
monolithic refractories, composites, or
fibrous refractories including both oxide and non-oxide ceramic materials, such as
alumina, zirconia, and mullite, plus silicon carbide and silicon nitride we
can bring experience and solutions.
My name is Dr.
Joseph Palko and I am in-charge of
materials for AIS. I have an advanced degree in
ceramics and materials engineering, plus a degree in mechanical engineering,
the combination of which gives me a unique insight into material problems
which may have aspects other than chemical and thermal. My experience
includes work on
applications as diverse as crucibles, combustors,
fuel nozzles, refractory cements, investment casting shell molds, abrasive
grinding wheels, catalytic substrates, and diesel particulate filters
including these processing methods:
pressing and sintering, electric melt and cast, injection molding, sol-gel,
and chemical vapor deposition. I have participated in DOE and EPRI
programs. In addition, my training includes statistical analysis and
metallurgy, which gives me an insight into the reactions
which take place and the severity of damage in comparison to what would
normally be expected in a given application.
